Counseling for Kids
I have worked for Mercer County schools for 12 years. I am a recent graduate of Marshall University Graduate College with an M.A. in Counseling and an M.A. in Multi-Categorical Special Education. I am currently seeking my Public School Administration Masters.
Education is my passion. I love helping our kids learn and grow!
I am the School Counselor at Bluefield Intermediate School and Whitethorn Primary School.
About Me
Character Education is important for the development of all students. Students learn the Six Pillars of Character and how to be a champion at school and in life.
Character Education
On a regular basis students work together in large groups for special character lessons that incorporate bully prevention, body safety, career planning, and a variety of other topics.
Special Character Lessons
Students can be referred by a teacher, staff member, parent or themselves for individual counseling sessions to help work through problems they may encounter in their lives. All sessions are confidential and strive to help all students achieve success.
Individual Counseling
Program Components
These skills promote interpersonal success, career success, school success and community involvement for our students.

Welcome to the School Counseling Web Site
My role is to help each child achieve success in the school setting through classroom guidance, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support. I will be in your child’s classroom throughout the year teaching Character Education. I am available every day for Individual Counseling and parent/teacher consultations. I will periodically provide group counseling sessions. My goal is to work with you to help your child meet their fullest potential.
I look forward to working with you to help your child achieve success. I would like to encourage you to take advantage of the counseling services provided at school to enhance your child’s education.
